Navigation for Trailers and Oversized Vehicles.

Find navigation routes that take the dimensions of your van and, if applicable, your trailer into account from the outset.


The use of the Digital Extras requires the permanent acceptance of the Terms of Use for Digital Extras and the Mercedes me ID Service Terms in their applicable versions, the permanent pairing of the vehicle with the Mercedes-Benz user account and – if applicable – the activation of the Digital Extras. Upon expiry of the term, the Digital Extras can be renewed for a fee in the Mercedes-Benz Store provided they are still offered for the corresponding vehicle at that point. In addition, for the use of some Digital Extras there may be further usage requirements or limitations specifically separate customer-owned contracts with third parties (e. g., streaming, charging, conclusion of a data contract covering comfort data volume), selected third-party products (e.g. smartphone, smartwatch) or they are only available for specific customer groups. Alternatively to comfort data volume, depending on the generation of your multimedia system, data volume must be available via Internet in the car or, where possible, your own data volume will need to be used via tethering. Information on personal data processed for the use of Digital Extras may be found in the Digital Extra privacy policy. The connection of the communication module to the mobile network, including the emergency call system, depends on the respective network coverage and availability of the network providers.
The Digital Extra is only available for Sprinter/eSprinter. Software version NTG6 FUP4 is required in order to use Navigation for Trailers and Oversized Vehicles to the full extent. The corresponding software update (for model series 907/910 before 02/2022) can be carried out at an authorised Mercedes-Benz workshop for a fee.

With this Digital Extra, you can make sure that the suggested route is suitable for your van’s dimensions before you set off. Whether high roof, extra-long body, trailer or increased payload – the relevant vehicle and, if applicable, trailer dimensions are already taken into account during route planning. This process will exclude routes that are unsuitable for you owing to height restrictions, the radius of bends, road width and other parameters.

TIPS

Tips for using this Digital Extra.

You can use the practical Send2Car function to share navigation destinations with your drivers. It works like this: in the Mercedes-Benz App, you enter the navigation destination and receive a route that takes the vehicle and, if applicable, trailer dimensions into account. Use the app to send the route straight to the MBUX multimedia system in your van. You or your driver can then start the navigation from there.

SET-UP

How to use the optimised route guidance.

1. Link vehicle

First link the vehicle for which you want to set up optimised route guidance to your company profile here on the local Mercedes-Benz website once you have logged in. Click here for more information on creating a company profile.

2. Specify vehicle data

Now activate the Digital Extra in the Mercedes-Benz App. Then go to “Settings” and “Trailer and oversized vehicle properties”. Read and accept the important parameters there. Now enter the length, width and height as well as the gross vehicle weight rating of your van and, if applicable, trailer. Finally, activate the Digital Extra in the vehicle by opening the route settings in the MBUX multimedia system and selecting “Navi: Trailers and oversized vehicles” once.

3. Start navigation

Enter the destination in the Mercedes-Benz App and send the optimised route to the MBUX multimedia system in your van. You or the driver can start the navigation from there. Alternatively, the route can also be planned directly in MBUX.

Navigation for Trailers and Oversized Vehicles is only available for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (model series 907/910 from 02/2022 onwards) with MBUX multimedia system and Navigation.
