In the event of a collision, the front airbags can protect the head and upper body of the driver and front-seat passengers. They also help to stabilise the whole body. They thus provide a high level of protection; reducing both the risk and severity of head, face and chest injuries.

The PRE-SAFE® preventive occupant protection system can identify potentially critical driving situations at an early stage and initiate protective measures. The measures include reversible tightening of the driver’s and front passenger’s seat belts and closing any open windows and roof systems if necessary.

Active Brake Assist can help you to prevent accidents with vehicles driving in front and with crossing pedestrians and cyclists or to minimise their consequences.

Blind Spot Assist with Rear Cross Traffic Alert can emit visual and audible warnings to help avoid accidents when changing lane and reversing. If Blind Spot Assist detects a vehicle in the blind spot, it displays a warning with a red triangle in the corresponding exterior mirror.

Traffic Sign Assist shows the driver detected speed limits as well as “no entry” or “no overtaking” signs, and their cancellation, in the instrument cluster display and in the media display, and warns if it detects that no-entry signs are being ignored. This particularly helps on journeys with frequently changing speed limits, for instance in roadworks.

Able to detect the things you can’t see: This assistance system can give you visual and audible warnings to make you aware of road users in the blind spot on the co-driver’s side. It can also detect cyclists and pedestrians, thus preventing collisions.

Helpful in busy traffic situations – this assistance system can help you recognise potential collision risks in good time when moving off. To do this, the system monitors the area right in front of your vehicle and warns you visually and audibly if it detects road users in the immediate vicinity.

Hill Start Assist can make starting off uphill easier by temporarily preventing the vehicle from rolling backwards.

Experience the intelligent support of modern assistance systems in interaction. A combination of five systems assists you in adapting speed, steering and maintaining distance according to the situation. This can protect passengers and other road users – and you can reach your destination in a more relaxed and comfortable manner.

The yellow LED marker lights at the vehicle sides increase the visibility while driving and when the vehicle is stopped when the headlamps are switched on, and thereby contribute to improved road safety. They are required in the EU for vehicles with an overall vehicle length of 6 metres and more.

The audible warning system makes other road users, for example, pedestrians and bike riders, aware of the electric vehicle and can therefore help to avoid collisions. An audible sound in the speed range from 0 to approx. 30 km is generated so that the electric vehicle can be heard better, e.g. in areas with restricted vehicle access.

In the event of hard braking, the Adaptive Brake Light can warn following traffic and thus help prevent rear-end collisions. It is activated when ESP® detects an emergency braking manoeuvre – depending on braking pressure and speed.

The ATTENTION ASSIST system can help to avoid momentary nodding off and therefore provides you with increased safety, in particular when driving at night and on long journeys. The system provides you with a visual and acoustic warning if it identifies typical signs of drowsiness or lack of attention, and suggests taking a break.

The radar-based Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC adaptive cruise control automatically maintains the distance between the vehicle and vehicles in front, taking the strain off you on motorways or in stop-and-go traffic.

Active Lane Keeping Assist monitors the area in front of your vehicle and can prevent you from unintentionally leaving your lane. The system can guide you back into your lane by means of lane-correcting steering intervention and additionally warn you by giving you noticeable feedback on the steering wheel.

Crosswind Assist can detect track offset caused by strong crosswind gusts in good time manner and help the driver to stay in lane. A sudden track offset of the vehicle can cause inappropriate steering reactions on the part of the driver.

Headlamp Assist automatically switch the headlamps on or off, depending on light conditions. In particular when light conditions change rapidly, for example when driving through tunnels, the assistance system can help the driver and increase driving safety.

Highbeam Assist automatically switches the main beams on and off according to the traffic situation and thereby relieves the driver of having to manually switch back and forth between main beam and dipped beam. The system is controlled by a camera behind the windscreen that permanently registers the traffic situation in front of the vehicle.

Keep an eye on applicable speed limits more easily. The assistant can read the maximum permitted speed from road signs via camera and navigation data and transfer it to the instrument cluster. If you exceed the speed limit, it can warn you with visible and audible signals.

The Active Safety Package includes four assistance systems that can relieve the strain on you and make driving safer. These are Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Speed Limit Assist. It also includes Traffic Sign Assist in conjunction with the Navigation Package.

The anti-theft alarm system provides protection for the vehicle and cargo, automatically arms with the remote and sounds if a door is opened from the inside while active.

The Anti-Theft Protection Package deters theft with visual and acoustic alarms, featuring an anti-theft system, interior, and tow-away protection.

GUARD 360° offers comprehensive theft protection with an alarm system, emergency key deactivation, theft alerts via app, and a service to aid in vehicle recovery if stolen.

The emergency call system speeds up assistance by automatically or manually initiating calls via an onboard SIM card after an accident, reducing emergency response times.

The tyre pressure loss detection system checks the air pressure in all 4 wheels from 20 km/h. It can alert the driver to a loss of pressure in the tyres, increasing driving safety and tyre life.

The premium tyre protection shields you from unforeseen expenses, covering factory-installed tyres against damage from punctures, impacts, bursts, vandalism, or theft, with warranty covering tyre and installation costs.
